Bryce Canyon – Oct 29 – Nov 3, 2018

October 30 – Day 1

We headed out from Palm Springs on the morning of October 29th, it took 9 hours to drive to Bryce Canyon, met everyone for dinner at a pizza place then headed to bed at Ruby’s Inn, nice rooms and good restaurant, as sleep was required especially for Ken as I got a fair amount during the drive. 😉We met the group, Bill and Shirley, Reg and Edie, Darryl and Paulette, Ray and Kelly at 10:00 am to head out for our first hike to Red Canyon. It was a great hike, a lot of ups and downs getting everyone back in the hiking mode, some of the ups did make my heart pound letting me know just how out of shape I was. We hiked about 7 miles through the canyon and every time you turned a corner it was another stunning view. The temperature was very comfortable for hiking, starting with gloves and jackets but shedding layers quickly, about +3 C.

Edie, a little nervous as the trail was narrow and steep

October 31 – Day 2

Everyone had a leisurely breakfast in the restaurant then met at 10:00 for hike #2. We hiked the Fairyland Loop Trail, lots of elevation, about 9 miles. The rocks resembled castles, walls, people, animals, someone was always seeing something in the rocks. The views were once again breathtaking, I don’t think the pictures can do it justice. Our group has lots of imagination, seeing all sorts of animal shapes in the rocks. They see roosters, buffaloes and all sorts of craziness.
