Made it home after 8 weeks on the road, with tons of fun and memories that will last forever. Canada, as we know is an amazing country with wonderful people, us Canadians. We made a point of trying to engage other folks in chats throughout the trip which was very fruitful to get to know some new people. We shared info with some and look forward to future meetings.
Some ending thoughts
– Our favourite province was Nova Scotia. Lots of diversity in things to do, fantastic food and engaging people. Virtually every Nova Scotian that we talked to had lived in other parts of Canada but returned home to N S. for good reason.
– the province with the best roads, Alberta for sure. The province with the worst roads, Nova Scotia. You had to dodge potholes on the freeways!
– The best golf! NS with the courses on the Cabot Trail, which were awesome. And, of course, Paragon Golf and Country Club
– The Quebecers put us to shame, as even in the Heavy Francophone areas, most speak two languages so we had absolutely no issue communicating. My 3 years worth in school are wanting for a Canadian. We loved the Gaspe and Quebec City.
– We saw 326 Moose Crossing signs and did not go to Newfoundland. The one moose that we did see was not at a moose crossing, so must have missed the memo.
– We saw 989 crows on the trip. As I said, we did not go to Newfoundland, but we can safely assume that every province has crows.
– There is no gravel in PEI. They import all of their gravel.
– cheapest gas Edmonton. Halifax was close.
– The Niagara area with Niagara Falls is a must see for all Canadians.
We travelled 15,750 km on the trip and the small motorhome was a very excellent way to see our country. I was on edge, every time I filled that tank, to ensure the grey moment did not lead me to the gas in lieu of the diesel. That diesel unit gave me 15 miles to the gallon on the trip. Outstanding, I would say.
Next year we plan on flying to Newfoundland and doing that province and the following year, a motorhome trip to BCTHE END
Great trip! We are glad you’re home safely. The photos and commentary are excellent- hope to see you soon.
