NOVEMBER 25/17 – JO POND TRAIL to CEDAR SPRING HIKE

Left home at 7:00 with eleven of us to travel up highway 74 to the trail head on Morris Ranch Road. The temperature dropped to 43 degrees at the start of our hike. The hike traversed thru tall mountain oaks to the switchbacks that took us up the mountain. The trail took us thru shade and sunny spots so I got a true feeling about menopause, so I thought. Marg says that it is a lot worse, so I’ll take her word for it on that.

Quite a steep climb which was continuous to the fork to Cedar Springs. We then descended one mile to Cedar Springs for lunch in a grove of, yes, Cedars! Never thought that I would see cedars in this part of the world.

Anyways, more beautiful scenery over 7 miles and 1850 feet of elevation gain. A good work out with friends! The temperature was up to 80 on the way back which brought out the bugs at that altitude.

Ken had an easy drive back as everybody stayed awake and talked. Paulette, not so much, I think!
